Pregnancy and Postnatal
I’m Anne – a Prenatal and Postpartum Instructor and Clinical Pilates Certified Instructor
I’m a Mama-to-Be, and have been working with women and their health for over 7 years. Motherhood is the hardest job in the world (hello, back pain), and my goal is to help make it that much easier – and enjoyable! – for you.
Staying active during pregnancy with smart and safe exercise, such as Pilates, has so many benefits for the Mother and baby, and can greatly help with your postpartum recovery. I can help you plan for a powerful pregnancy to prevent or minimize the common aches, pains and pregnancy-related symptoms such as stress incontinence, SI joint pain and Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction. You’ll learn how to connect with your body, core and breathing system in a whole new way, which can help with the labour process and allow you to be in your body during one of life’s greatest events.
Carrying your baby for 9 months and then delivering can feel like your body’s been through a marathon – and it has! The next few years are just as important as you’re not only caring for someone entirely new, 24 hrs a day, but also yourself. You’re going to need strength, and a lot of it!
Having a game plan on how to recover from birth and safely regain your body and core strength and pelvic floor health is key in not only helping you return to the activities you love most, but allowing you to withstand the demands of Motherhood. Most importantly, learning to appreciate and respect all that your body has been through, along with cultivating a positive body image, is a humbling and important step in your journey towards healing.
If it’s been years since your last child was born, and you’re still struggling, you’re not alone. Back pain, neck tension, SI joint pain, diastasis recti and incontinence are some issues that can arise during pregnancy and postpartum and linger for years to follow. I can help you start fresh by cleaning up old movement patterns, looking at your body as a whole and coming up with program specific to your needs and goals.
Every Mama deserves to have a body that feels like her own again.
Not sure where to start? Reach out and let’s set up a session or a cup tea. I’d love to meet you.
Motherhood transforms us in every sense, and our bodies are no exception. Let’s make the journey through your pregnancy a little smoother so you can move into motherhood with freedom + joy.

You did it, Mama. Take a deep breath, and give yourself time to reconnect with your body. A lot has changed during pregnancy and birth. Let’s work together to reset your body and build the strength you need to flourish in Motherhood.
It is so important to understand what your body has been through and where your body is at currently. Some issues we might see in the postpartum period are:
- Bum tucking, or holding your pelvis in a Posterior Pelvic Tilt
- Rib flare
- Diastastis Recti
- Hypertonic (tight) and Hypotonic (weak) Pelvic Floors, regardless of whether or not you had a vaginal or belly (c-section) birth
- Lumbar spine tension +pain
- Mid back stiffness + tension
- Neck pain
- SI joint pain
- Glute + Hip pain
- Poor posture from repetitive holding patterns, such as nursing or bottle feeding, hip carrying and baby wearing . . .
. . . And every other pain that sometimes comes with being a Mother. It’s a lot, and now is the time to get strong! We can go over everything you need to know about returning to exercise, if, and when, you should see a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist and which type of program will support you best.
